C2 Makerspace First Robotics as Team #9676 is looking for adult leaders with passion in robotics to help work with students in this amazing club. The robot requires coding, engineering and comprises of electrical and mechanical systems to build the robot. 

Language is command based Java.

C2 is current looking for a volunteer (age 18 and above) to help lead our mBot Robotics Club. 

This club currently meets every Thursday from 6:30 p.m. - 8 p.m.  The club is designed for ages 9-14 but we typically see participants ages 9-12 in this club. 

The mBot robot uses the program called Spike.

We would like for the volunteer in this club to:

1) Work with new participants on what the mbot is, how to use spike.

2) Help the participants with any questions they have.

3) Help create group projects for the participants to work on together. 

4) Expand the participants knowledge in coding and/or programming. 

5) Help the participants be creative, learn something new and build confidence. 

5) Help with C2 events if able.

At C2 we offer a 3D Printing Club every Tuesday from 5:30 p.m. -7 p.m. 

This club is offered for participants ages 9-18 but we typically see kids ages 9-12 in this club. 

We are looking for volunteers (over 18) to help participants in this club with:

1) Questions in TinkerCAD  (TinkerCAD is the program we use to make 3D Designs).

2). Help the participants print to the 3D Printer(s).

3). Assist with training new participants in the club. 

4). Assist with helping the participants think outside the box, grow and have confidence. 

5) Help with events C2 has scheduled (if able). 

To volunteer for our 3D Printing club, we would like you to have some experience in 3D Printing. HOWEVER, if you don't but would still like to volunteer, we are happy to training you on the equipment.

Shelter Support Team: During large disasters, you can support the day-to-day activities within a shelter which may include working in reception, registration, feeding, dormitory, information or other areas within a shelter. Free online training will be provided. If the need arises, volunteers are asked to commit to multiple local shifts of 4-12 hours each. For those able to travel outside of their local area, a commitment of at least 14 consecutive days, working 8- or 12-hour shifts is required. The Red Cross is seeing a huge spike in volunteer applications due to current natural disasters and is in need of volunteers to conduct phone interviews of interested individuals. The Red Cross is looking for individuals to work weekend and overnight shifts (10pm-6am) for Disaster Dispatch. The Red Cross response is a team effort and Disaster Dispatch is the vital link between the Red Cross and local first responders. Visit Marshfield is looking for volunteers with for a variety of needs throughout Maple Fall Fest. Needs include assisting with set-up on Thursday, September 11 in the afternoon, assistance for vendors with check-in on Friday, September 12, assistance at the information booth to answer general questions and sell Maple Fall Fest shirts or to help at the park entrances to supervise authorized use throughout Saturday and Sunday, and assistance with take-down on Sunday afternoon. All volunteers are provided a Maple Fall Fest tshirt as well as a meal during their shift.

Heartland Hospice is in need of volunteers with military background to join our team of caring professionals! Our Vets-to-Vets volunteer program is dedicated to providing quality care to our veteran patients and families that are living in this community. Volunteers help improve the quality of our patients lives through social interaction and companionship. If you enjoy engaging with older adults, this opportunity could be perfect for you! We are looking for volunteer advocates to improve the lives of residents living in nursing homes and assisted living facilities located in Marshfield and the surrounding communities!  As an advocate, you make weekly unannounced visits to a designated facility, observe general conditions of the facility, meet with residents to educate them about their rights, and empower residents to resolve concerns on their own. Our volunteers are friendly visitors on a mission of advocacy! Training and materials are provided, with ongoing support always available. This opportunity is flexible and visits are 1-2 hours in duration and can be made any day of the week between 8am-8pm.

LuCille Tack Center stage hands help with preparing stage for the performance scheduled. The need involves helping set the stage for the performance. Helping performers to unload their equipment and directing them to the stage and performance area. Volunteers should be prepared to be able to lift 50 pounds, walk and climb stairs.

The Hospitality Team is responsible for providing food for performers at the LuCille Tack Center on day of the performance. Details vary by performance and will be provided in advance to volunteers. Volunteers should be prepared to set up, serve and clean up at the completion of the meal.

Hannah Center's Caring Closet in Marshfield serves the communities throughout Wood and surrounding counties with all things babies. We get calls everyday for community members and agencies with clients in need. Things that go very fast and are ongoing needs are diapers and wipes of all sizes.

Everyday needs such as food items are essential to the function of our house and caring for the families who call Hannah Center home. Staple products and especially meats are greatly appreciated.  Thank you so much!

Become a Mentor!

In our School-Based Mentoring Program, a mentor will give a child the invaluable gift of being a caring and consistent friend to them.

Our School-Based or Site-Based Mentoring Program volunteer will meet with their Little for about 1 hour on a specific day, in a supervised setting, on a weekly basis.  Volunteers are matched during lunch periods or after school hours.  (Hours vary at different sites.)  Volunteering takes place in Marshfield, WI.  Volunteer activity ideas are playing board games, reading together, doing craft projects, or just talking.

For 1-2 hours a week, you could impact the life of a child forever! We are currently looking for volunteer mentors for children ages 5-18. Mentors would meet with their Little once a week for 1-2 hours and plan activities together. Many matches go out for ice cream, go to the park, or just talk about their day. The possibilities are endless! The role of a Big Brother or Big Sister is to be a positive, supportive friend to a child.

Hannah Center is looking for loving caregivers to help with our children while parents are taking classes, working a part-time schedule last minute or sometimes just helping when other activities are going on. Must be at least 18 and pass a background check.

The Hannah Center is seeking women who would love to give back to our community by guiding, loving and being a mentor to our residents. Get paid while giving back and save for that trip you've always wanted to take!

What makes volunteer blood donors so special? Blood cannot be made or manufactured. It’s a gift that can only be given from a volunteer donor.

About one hour is all it takes to provide the lifesaving gift of blood to patients in our local hospitals. Right here in our community, volunteer blood donors are connecting lives and sharing life through blood donation.

Blood donation couldn’t be more important. There is no substitute for blood, so when a local patient is facing cancer treatment, surgical procedures or the uncertainty of a traumatic injury, it’s volunteer donors who help ensure that the blood needed is on hand.

With the increase in the number of PDC participants in shelter (20-35) daily, the increased food insecurity of non-residential participants, and the soaring cost of food has created a level of need we have not encountered before. Our food budget has dramatically increased, putting a strain on the agency's budget.

Personal Development Center relies on the generosity and kindness of our community and the surrounding areas which has always been amazing. During the holidays we receive food donations, which are used to stock PDC’s pantry with dry goods and canned food.

This year, due to the increased need, our panty is currently the lowest level it has ever been. We have less than a 30-day supply of food for nutritious meals in shelter.

We are asking our supporters and the community for help. A list of the most used grocery items is attached. Even one can of soup or vegetables can make a difference. PDC is committed to the health and safety of our community’s most vulnerable.

The Hannah Center operates a large supply of infant, toddler, and children's clothes.  We are constantly receiving donations as well as compiling packages to be able to give to those in need.  If you like to organize and sort we need your help categorizing and organizing and sorting the clean clothes. Are you a “people person?” In this area, you will provide patient room numbers as needed/appropriate and escort visitors to their destination. The Hannah Center is looking for a volunteer to teach a Life Skills class on topics such as positive discipline, communication, healthy boundaries in relationships, and coping skills. These classes would be approximately one hour long, and the material covered would be for the volunteer to create and present in relation to the topic you choose to teach. If necessary, this Life Skills class could be broken into two (or more) classes. Life Skills classes are held at the volunteer instructor's convenience.

Volunteer Drivers are needed to help with meal deliveries in the city of Marshfield.  Hot meals are picked up between 10:45AM & 11AM at Saint Joseph's Hospital, and delivered to the homes and apartments of elderly and disabled individuals in the Marshfield community.  Total time involved is about one hour.  Using their own vehicle, volunteers deliver the hot meals and pick up empty meal trays from the day before, which are then returned to the Hospital. 

Volunteers are asked to help out one day/week, or whatever their availability might be.  Schedules are always flexible!  Meals are delivered every day of the week and also on weekends and holidays. 

This volunteer would work with the House manager on duty to fulfill House needs from writing thank you notes to doing laundry, putting away donations, baking, etc. Volunteers do things "behind the scenes" to make our House a cozy home for the 10 families that stay with us while they have an ill child in the hospital. House Volunteers give of their time (1-3 hrs weekly for most). Some volunteer mornings, some afternoons, and some prefer evenings after school or work.

There is a 4-page application to be completed. We do call references and do background checks. A six-month commitment is required before we start the training. Volunteers must be at least 16 years of age. All must have a heart to serve!

Each week the SOS food pantry is open Monday through Wednesday from 12:30pm to 3:30pm.  Thursday we are open from 12:30pm to 4:30pm.  We are open on Friday from 9am to 12pm.

We are in need of volunteers that would like to work a shift or 2 every month.  We are also in need of volunteers who could be on call when needed.

Help create a welcoming and comfortable experience for guests and sponsors in our outpatient surgery center. This fast-paced position manages the flow of guests in the surgery waiting area, as well as provides updates to sponsors when available. We currently have two shifts available, and are looking for two volunteers to join the OSC volunteer team.

The Marshfield Area Respite Care Center (MARCC) offers a peaceful quality social daycare program during the week (Monday-Friday) from 10am-4pm for individuals with Parkinson’s disease, Alzheimer’s disease, or other dementia.

Daily volunteers are needed whenever available.

Purpose:

Work in collaboration with Soup or Socks board members and staff to review current bylaws and policies.  Recommend changes and updates.  Draft changes as requested and present for board approval.  Draft amendments to the bylaws as requested by board.  

Time involved will depend on the number of items needing review.

Purpose:

Work with Soup or Socks board and staff to recruit volunteers to execute food drive efficiently.  We have several opportunities available for each drive.  

Scouting for Food and Letter Carrier Drives are in collaboration with Scouts, Postal Workers and St. Vincent DePaul.  Time involved varies depending on the drive.

Purpose:  Plan, organize and execute an event annually on the 2nd Saturday of March.

Time involved:  5 to 7 meetings a year, usually 2 hours in length.  The committee has multiple roles and functions as a team.  Each person on the committee takes on a leadership role.  Some of the areas to be covered need more than one person to be successful, but all committee members are expected to help where needed as priorities shift.

The North Wood County Historical Society needs help cataloging photos and negatives in their visual resources collection. This would include scanning, identifying, and entering data into excel spreadsheet. Skills that are helpful include knowledge of excel, ability to concentrate & stay organized while cataloging, patience, attention to detail, and, of course, an interest in history!

This project is open to individuals or very small groups. The NWCHS has limited hardware (scanner, computers, etc) so if you have your own and would like to put together a team to work on this project, that is also an option!

This project will be conducted at the Governor Upham House (212 W. 3rd St.) which is an accessible building and open on designated Saturdays each month, from 10am – 4pm. Interested volunteers would be able to come as able.

Wood County Transportation is in need of your help! The Wood County Volunteer Driver program provides transportation services for the elderly and disabled to medical appointments as well as transportation for Wood County Human Services. We are very much in need of drivers in the Marshfield and Wisconsin Rapids area. You will have the opportunity to meet great people. All trips are within the State of Wisconsin. As a volunteer you can drive as much or as little as you like. Volunteer drivers will receive reimbursement for their mileage driven. The Soup or Socks Clothes Closet is expanding hours of service.  The Clothes Closet will be open Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.  The hours are 12:30pm to 3:30pm on Tuesday and Wednesday.  Thursday hours are 12:30pm to 4:30pm.  

Families in need schedule an appointment with Soup or Socks to be served so that we have one family at a time.  Volunteers can choose to work 1 or more shifts per month as their schedule allows.

Volunteers sort donations and help clients find clothing that will meet their needs.  The Clothes Closet has a coordinator that maintains the schedule.

Soup or Socks is looking for people with a passion for our mission to serve on our Board of Directors.  Meetings are held the third Tuesday of the month 9 times a year.  We do not meet in the months of June, July or December.

Volunteers will work with The Master Gardner's in maintaining the grounds of the Upham Mansion. 

Our grounds maintenance includes, but is not limited to, the following tasks:

Is your passion planting flowers or landscaping? This is an opportunity for you to do some flower planting, landscaping, raking, and sweeping throughout the UWSP at Marshfield Campus. Check for any kind of weeding that may need to be done as well as helping to keep the sidewalks clean and possibly other general light yard work may be involved.

Some experience is helpful but not necessary, it is 2-3 hours in the winter and about 4-6 hours during the summer time with flexible hours.

Administrative/office volunteers needed at the UWSP at Marshfield Campus. Some of the activities involve filing, data entry, answering the phone, customer service, and other light office duties. We ask that there is some knowledge in Microsoft Word.

This would be about 4-8 hours a week and are flexible hours.

Help campus staff with special events held during the day, nights or weekends.  This would include helping with setup, decorations, and perhaps coordinating special projects, updating bulletin boards, and much more. Some light cleaning duties for specific areas. (I.e. Art Gallery, Costume Room, Theatre, etc.) Helping out with Inventory of equipment and supplies would be helpful.

This is 4-6 hours a week with flexible hours.

The Marshfield Child Advocacy Center (MCAC) is seeking proactive individuals ready to make a difference in the community and the lives of others! Our highest need is for volunteers to provide childcare during their visit to the center. Other possibilities for volunteering includes, but are not limited to:

The SMP program offers volunteers an opportunity to make an important difference in their communities throughout Wisconsin.

Thank you for your interest in the Senior Medicare Patrol volunteer program. As a volunteer, you will play a vital role in the overall success of the Wisconsin SMP. The information that you will impart as a volunteer will help seniors in your community to become better health care consumers. Together we can inform and empower Medicare beneficiaries, their families and caregivers on how to protect, detect, and report Medicare fraud, abuses and errors. By volunteering, you will have an opportunity to use your talents, skills, and networking to provide outreach and education on Medicare fraud in your community. Volunteer involvement ranges from distributing materials, staffing a booth at conferences and outreach events, to giving group presentations. A description of these three activities is below.  

All positions require some training and an orientation. Training is provided both in-person and online. We want to provide you with the information and background you’ll need to be knowledgeable and capable of responding to questions from members of the community. The last two roles also require a background check.

The position of the Day Services Music Volunteer serves to enhance the ability of Day Services to keep our clients engaged in a variety of activities such as music, supporting the organization’s mission to empower people with disabilities to achieve their work and life goals. The Day Services Music Volunteer is a representative of ODC and shares our vision and values when serving as a volunteer.

Key Responsibilities:

Responsible to: Bri Schoechert, Day Services Coordinator

Time Commitment: Flexible, to be determined between volunteer and supervisor

Qualifications:

Support: General training for all volunteers is provided by the Senior Director of Program Services.  Position specific training will be provided by Day Services Coordinator. In addition, the Senior Director of Program Services will be available for questions and assistance.

The position of the Day Services Pet Therapy Volunteer serves to enhance the ability of Day Services to keep our clients engaged in a variety of activities such as pet therapy, supporting the organization’s mission to empower people with disabilities to achieve their work and life goals. The Day Services Pet Therapy Volunteer is a representative of ODC and shares our vision and values when serving as a volunteer.

Dress Code: Casual

Volunteers are needed to be on an on-call rotation for evenings and weekends, and serve as a volunteer advocate for sexual assault victims. Training is provided. Application and background check is required. Please contact Personal Development Center 715-384-2971 if interested.

This position is great for those in the medical, social services, and criminal justice field to help gain some hands on experience and knowledge!
