Volunteer: Administrative Support - Volunteer Services

Are you the person that LOVES filling out paperwork AND meeting new people?  Then this is the ideal volunteer opportunity.  In this opportunity you will be assisting the ODC volunteers as they start their journey as an ODC volunteer. By working alongside the Services Development Director; you serve as the bridge to the volunteer on boarding and orientation process, connecting new volunteers with their department leader and assuring they are able to access their volunteer log in as well as other annual requirements for training.   

The person in this position will be the volunteer program volunteer lead.  It is essential that the person looking to support ODC in this opportunity be able to work with a wide variety of people, able to help build a team of volunteers committed to connecting with people with disabilities as they discover their abilities and communities throughout central Wisconsin.

The position of the Day Services Volunteer serves to enhance the ability of Day Services to keep our clients engaged in a variety of activities, supporting the organization’s mission to empower people with disabilities to achieve their work and life goals. The Day Services Volunteer is a representative of ODC and shares our vision and values when serving as a volunteer.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist staff or lead small groups or one-on-one activities and classes Get participants involved and engaged in the fun and social activities Offer a form of companionship to the clients Teach clients something that you are interested in such as music, gardening, pet therapy, exercise, etc.

Responsible to: Bri Schoechert, Day Services Coordinator

Time Commitment: Flexible, to be determined between volunteer and supervisor

Qualifications:

Reliability People person Willing to teach clients Friendly

Support: General training for all volunteers is provided by the Senior Director of Program Services.  Position specific training will be provided by Day Services Coordinator. In addition, the Senior Director of Program Services will be available for questions and assistance.
