Each week the SOS food pantry is open Monday through Wednesday from 12:30pm to 3:30pm.  Thursday we are open from 12:30pm to 4:30pm.  We are open on Friday from 9am to 12pm.

We are in need of volunteers that would like to work a shift or 2 every month.  We are also in need of volunteers who could be on call when needed.

Are you a youth looking to fill in some time with a fun volunteer opportunity.  Soup or Socks is the place to try.  We have a program that runs every Wednesday for students to volunteer.  We work during the school year on Wednesday from 3pm to 5:00 pm.  Please contact us for more information and an application. 

The group also works in the summer, day and time to be determined.

Youth must have completed 8th grade to participate.  This a great way to build hours for National Honor Society and other organizations

Purpose:

Work in collaboration with Soup or Socks board members and staff to review current bylaws and policies.  Recommend changes and updates.  Draft changes as requested and present for board approval.  Draft amendments to the bylaws as requested by board.  

Time involved will depend on the number of items needing review.

Purpose:

Work with Soup or Socks board and staff to recruit volunteers to execute food drive efficiently.  We have several opportunities available for each drive.  

Scouting for Food and Letter Carrier Drives are in collaboration with Scouts, Postal Workers and St. Vincent DePaul.  Time involved varies depending on the drive.

 

Purpose:  Plan, organize and execute an event annually on the 2nd Saturday of March.

Time involved:  5 to 7 meetings a year, usually 2 hours in length.  The committee has multiple roles and functions as a team.  Each person on the committee takes on a leadership role.  Some of the areas to be covered need more than one person to be successful, but all committee members are expected to help where needed as priorities shift.

 

The Soup or Socks Clothes Closet is expanding hours of service.  The Clothes Closet will be open Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.  The hours are 12:30pm to 3:30pm on Tuesday and Wednesday.  Thursday hours are 12:30pm to 4:30pm.  

Families in need schedule an appointment with Soup or Socks to be served so that we have one family at a time.  Volunteers can choose to work 1 or more shifts per month as their schedule allows.

Volunteers sort donations and help clients find clothing that will meet their needs.  The Clothes Closet has a coordinator that maintains the schedule. 

Maybe the perfect opportunity for you and a friend or 2 to volunteer once a month! Covid protocols are in place.

Soup or Socks is looking for people with a passion for our mission to serve on our Board of Directors.  Meetings are held the third Tuesday of the month 9 times a year.  We do not meet in the months of June, July or December.
