Who We Are

Healthy People Wood County is a partnership of residents, hospitals, nonprofits, businesses, public health officials, and schools all aligning our energy to fight complex health problems together.

Alone none of us can overcome the challenges our communities face.  Together we can achieve progress.

Based on a Wood County community needs assessment, four target areas of need have been identified: mental health, prevention of alcohol and other drug abuse, healthy growth and healthy food and activity. Four respective teams have been created to work on these issues; Mental Health Matters, AOD Prevention Partnership, Brighter Futures and Recreate Health.

What We Do

Healthy People Wood County works to make Wood County a healthier place to live, work and thrive!

Team coordinators convene partners and create partnerships using the following as guidelines, the work must; enhance health equity, include policy, systems, and environmental levels of change (PSE), engage the community, and create sustainable partnerships for lasting change.

We work in the “gray area”, our work is never straight-forward, often shape-shifting and changing directions, but we continuously work within our guidelines to enhance the overall health of Wood County residents.
